Oakton students can transfer to Roosevelt University according to the agreements and pathways outlined below.

Agreements

Dual Degree Program (DDP)

Benefits

Guaranteed admission in all degree programs except those in the Chicago College of Performing Arts and College of Pharmacy and seamless transfer for students who have earned an associate degree with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
Receive a special Preferred Partner DDP Scholarship of $1,000.
Additional stackable scholarship opportunities, such as merit scholarships from $1,000-$3,000 and the $500 Phi Theta Kapa Scholarship.
Access to academic advising at Oakton and Roosevelt.

Criteria

In order to qualify, students must:

join the program after completing a minimum of 12 credit hours and a maximum of 45 credits at Oakton,
submit an unofficial transcript copy to Roosevelt after each semester for verification of satisfactory academic progress and continued eligibility for program,
earn an associate degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5 within three years,
complete the degree requirements for the chosen major,
earn a bachelor's degree within three years of transferring.

Special Note

Once a student chooses a major, their degree requirements will be locked in for 3 years.

Direct Enrollment Program (DEP): PharmD

The Direct Enrollment Program (DEP) is a unique partnership between Roosevelt and Oakton College that provides a direct pathway for up to 10 highly qualified, full-time students per academic year who successfully complete their pharmacy program prerequisites at Oakton College to gain direct admission into the Doctor of Pharmacy program at Roosevelt.

Direct admission into the College of Science, Health & Pharmacy
The PharmD program, is a three-year accelerated program, offering annual renewable scholarships, 3-year guaranteed tuition, and small class sizes with a 6:1 student-to-faculty ratio.
Apply directly to Roosevelt University rather than PharmCAS
Guaranteed seat upon completion of prerequisite coursework
PCAT requirement is waived
Stackable scholarship opportunities, such as merit scholarships from $1,000-$3,000 and the $500 Phi Theta Kapa Scholarship.

Criteria

In order to qualify, students must:

have a high school diploma or equivalency
have a recommended undergraduate GPA of at least a 3.0
have a grade point average of at least 2.75 in math and science
be in the final year of completing PharmD prerequisites at Oakton College

Special Note

To ensure consideration for DEP, students will need to:
- Select Graduate/Doctoral Application and choose Pharmacy from the drop-down menu when completing the Roosevelt University Application.
- Interview with applicable Roosevelt personnel.
Then, if recommended for admission by the Faculty Admissions Committee, students must accept the offer for admission and submit an enrollment deposit.

Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program

The Roosevelt University Noyce Scholarship Program seeks to encourage talented science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) majors and professionals to become middle school and high school teachers in Biology, Biochemistry, and Mathematics.

Benefits

Noyce Scholars are eligible to receive a full scholarship during their junior and senior undergraduate years at Roosevelt.
- Graduate Students are eligible to receive a full scholarship for each of the two years of the secondary education MA degree program.
Assistance from the Chicago Public Schools in job placement. (However it is not required for scholars to teach for CPS.)
In partnership with the Chicago Public Schools, additional support during the initial years of STEM teaching will be provided through the assignment of an experienced teacher mentor for two years and summer workshops.
Roosevelt undergraduate students may apply for an internship that provides up to $400 per year for activities introducing them to the teaching profession. (Interns are not guaranteed a scholarship, but will seriously be considered based upon their internship period.)

Criteria

In order to qualify, students must:

be an admitted or current student at Roosevelt University who will be a junior or senior year during the time of the scholarship,
attend Roosevelt for the junior and senior years and major in biology, chemistry or mathematics,
minor in secondary education
have a GPA of at least 2.8 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application for scholarship funds,
successfully pass the Illinois Basic Skills test or have SAT or ACT scores that satisfy the state licensure requirements,
fulfill two year teaching commitment within six years of program completion.

Special Notes

For each year of scholarship received, the scholar agrees to teach an eligible STEM subject in a "high needs" Illinois school for two years.
All scholars need to complete all courses required for Illinois licensure.

Eleanor Roosevelt Honors Scholarship Program

Benefits

The Eleanor Roosevelt Honors Agreement provides students who enroll in the Honors Program at the time of transfer to Roosevelt University the opportunity to receive the Eleanor Roosevelt Honors Scholarship. The scholarship is a renewable annual merit award of up to $3,500. The Eleanor Roosevelt Honors Scholarship is stackable with Roosevelt's $1,000 - $3,000 merit scholarships and $500 Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship offered to eligible transfer students.

Criteria

In order to qualify, students must:

maintain continuous enrollment in the Honors Program at Roosevelt by taking at least one Honors course each semester,
maintain adequate progress in the Honors Program at Roosevelt by maintaining an overall institutional GPA minimum of 3.0 and earn B grades or higher in Honors courses,
complete the Honors Thesis capstone sequence in the final year.
