In accordance with the State of Illinois' Business Enterprise Program for Minorities, Females, and Persons with Disabilities Act (30 ILCS 575), Oakton College has established an aspirational goal of awarding 30% of its procurement expenditures to certified Business Enterprise Program (BEP) vendors.
The Business Enterprise Program (BEP) promotes an inclusive, equitable, and competitive business environment by expanding opportunities for businesses owned by minorities, females, and persons with disabilities. The program helps participating businesses strengthen their capacity, increase revenue, and enhance their qualifications for public contracting.
Oakton College encourages vendors to visit the State of Illinois Commission on Equity and Inclusion (CEI) Business Enterprise Program website for information about certification requirements and the application process. To be eligible for BEP participation on College contracts, vendors must be certified by the CEI prior to the contract award. Visit the CEI Business Enterprise Program website for complete BEP certification requirements.
Recognizing the value of increasing access to contracting opportunities for businesses owned by minorities, females, and persons with disabilities, Oakton College has also established a college-wide Business Enterprise Program (BEP) Policy to support supplier diversity and advance equitable procurement practices.
