Career Counseling

The choices you make in your college career are some of the biggest you'll face.

The classes you take, the major you pursue, the decision to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete your studies, what job you go for after graduating: All of these can have a significant impact on every aspect of your life. Because of that significance, making these choices isn't always easy. Sometimes, you need personal, one-on-one assistance.

The Career and Transfer Center offers specially trained and qualified career and transfer coaches to offer you that guidance. If you're planning to transfer, they'll work with you to find a four-year institution that meets your needs, and help you choose and register for classes. They'll make sure your class credits transfer and that you are doing all the necessary coursework to lay the foundation for your long-term success.

If you need assistance in finding a career, the coaches will work directly with you and lead you through a series of activities to help you pinpoint your interests and skills. Using those insights, you and your counselor can make choices regarding your classes and educational path so you are best prepared for a career that's fulfilling and works for you.

Your career and transfer coach can also help you with your job search, offering useful advice and coaching. You'll learn to write engaging cover letters and resumes, develop useful job search skills and find leads online. You'll also learn to build interpersonal skills so you can network effectively and make a strong and positive impression during job interviews.

No matter your long term goals, the team at the Career and Transfer Center will ensure you're on the path to achieving them.
