Whether you're on-campus, online, returning to college, or just out of high school, Oakton's Tutoring Services is here to support everyone on their academic journey. Tutoring is free, accessible and convenient. Log into your myOakton account to access the tutoring schedules and forms below.

What We Offer

Oakton tutors can help with a wide range of subjects, including everything from anatomy to calculus, physics to accounting. Tutors work with students at the Learning Center at the Des Plaines and Skokie campuses and online.

You can drop-in for help during a tutor’s regularly scheduled hours, or for some subjects, email the tutor to set up a meeting time. Please log into your myOakton account to view the schedule.

Math tutors are available at the Learning Center at the Des Plaines campus, Skokie campus, and online. Students are served on a first-come, first-served basis.

Oakton writing tutors can help with essays and research papers for English and other subjects. Writing tutors can also help with college transfer essays, personal statements, scholarship essays, resumes, and cover letters.

There are three main options for writing tutoring. Please log into your myOakton account to view the forms and schedule:

For a more personalized approach to academic support, you can meet with the same tutor at the same time each week, all semester long. This service is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and requests will be processed in the order in which they were received.

Appointment Reminders

You can schedule no more than two appointments (90 minutes) per day. You can schedule no more than four future appointments at a time. 

If you can’t keep an appointment, cancel it at least 24 hours in advance. If you are running late, please inform the Learning Center. Otherwise, your appointment may be canceled or given to the next student in line.

If you miss, cancel, or reschedule five appointments within a single semester, your access to tutoring services will be temporarily suspended. To reactivate access to tutoring services and resolve the issues, contact a Learning Specialist Supervisor at learningcenter@oakton.edu
