Requesting Services

After you’ve applied to Oakton Community College and received your student ID number and log in information, you can complete the Access and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) AIM Student Application to begin the process of requesting academic accommodations and services. 

Step 1: Complete the ADRC AIM Student Application and submit your disability documentation electronically into the ADRC Student Application portal.

Step 2: After you have received email confirmation that your ADRC AIM Student Application has been accepted, complete the Appointment Request Form to request to speak with an ADRC staff member for a new student intake appointment. A staff member will contact you via email to confirm an appointment time according to your availability.

Step 3: Meet with the ADRC staff member for your scheduled intake appointment. Take any needed placement tests after intake meeting.

Step 4: Complete New Student Orientation requirements, including meeting with an academic advisor to review placement test scores, complete educational plan and register for classes.

Step 5: Fill out Accommodation Request Form as soon as possible after registering for classes each semester in which you would like to use your accommodations.

Please Note: Some accommodations may take up to four weeks to be processed, so make your request early.

Step 6: After you have submitted an Accommodation Request Form, an ADRC staff will notify your instructors via email of your requested and approved accommodations.
